Meet Eugene and Cor,
Eugene discovered Argentine Tango in 2009. He was drawn to the way tango brings people together through music, movement and the embrace. His interest has taken him to festivals, competitions and tango communities in Hong Kong, across Asia and in Buenos Aires.
Through years of study and practice, Eugene has developed an approach grounded in partner communication, musical awareness and the possibilities of improvisation.
Cor’s movement background began with Chinese dance, ballet and jazz. She discovered Argentine Tango in 2010 and was drawn to its contrasts: structure and freedom, individuality and partnership, stillness and movement.
Her tango practice explores how dancers can adapt to each other through the embrace while retaining their own balance, expression and identity. Cor is also an active tango DJ, sharing the music of Argentine Tango at milongas in Hong Kong.

Their tango journey
Eugene and Cor studied and developed their Tango with Argentine, international and local tango masters. They won the Hong Kong Tango Championship (Pista category) in 2017, and the China Tango Championship (Pista category) in 2018. They represented China to compete in the Mundial Tango Championship in Buenos Aires that same year.

Following their passion for Tango, they travelled to Buenos Aires in 2019 and spent eight months there immersing themselves in the culture, enjoy the milongas, and learn from the very best. They performed in 'Show de fin de año' by Pablo Giorgini and Noelia Coletti at the Teatro Empire in Buenos Aires.
In recent years, Eugene and Cor have continued to develop their tango through performance, competition and cultural exchange across Asia. Their journey has taken them to theatres, festivals and milongas in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taiwan and South Korea. Highlights include performing with Orquesta La Juan D’Arienzo at the Taiwan Tango Marathon, as well as appearances at the Shanghai International Tango Festival, National Taichung Theater and Oppa Milonga at Tango O Nada in Seoul. Closer to home, they have performed at Bluemoon Milonga, High Tea Milonga and Peanut Milonga, at venues including the Fringe Club, Hong Kong Design Hub and The Langham. In 2026, they won the Escenario category at the Hong Kong Tango Championship and were named First Runner-Up at the China Tango Championship.
They believe that tango is a lifelong learning process and they look forward to sharing the joy of tango with more friends along the way. They are keen to share their passion and knowledge not only in the technique of the dance, but also on the understanding of the culture and philosophy.
